Meet the artists - Ian Williams

AYM is the performance poetry moniker of Ian Williams, who, as well as running a marketing training & consultancy business, runs the Oxford sketch writing group The Guild of the Forbidden Helmet and (from time to time) performs as a stand-up comedian. Wearing his performance poetry hat, Ian was the first ever winner of Oxford’s very own Hammer & Tongue slam poetry competition and was also the first ever winner of SlamIdol, the world’s first internet-based slam. Ian is a keen Twitter, with four accounts: @ianwilliams, @jerichotraining, @jerichomarketin and @forbiddenhelmet.

I am interested in the Oxford Twestival as I am expanding my interests more and more into the Twittersphere and this seems like a great opportunity to both perform and get to know other people who are as passionate about Social Media as I am. :)

Artists of Oxford Twestival

Some of you were asking about the artists today, so here is the finalised programme. Our host of the evening is going to be Partissia Cuberos - poet, writer, tango dancer and performer, who kindly agreed to set the order of performances and introduce each artists.

We will also hear poetry performance from Ian Williams (@ianwilliams ), who promotes artistic thinking in marketing. Ian’s friend, Ellen McAteer (@ellenmcateer ), who currently works for Oxfam, will also read poetry for us. Lizzie wrote to us via Catweazle, and you check out her performances here .

We will have five musical performances of the night, who offered help via Catweazle. You will see Simon Davies , Jack Loyd Duo , The Keeling Curve , Bring a Guillotine and HUCK .

Patrissia will decide on the order of performances on the spot, so I cannot tell you who plays when, only that we will try to mix music with poetry and try to finish the set by 10PM, so we can allow our artists to jam together if they feel like (it would be great if we could continue this tradition from previous #oxtwestival;)).

In next few days we will tell you more about each of the performers!
