Wychwood Festival Sponsor Twestival

Posted on: 13 March 2010 (1 week ago) at 1103 - Comment

The splendid people at Wychwood Festival have very kindly donated a pair of tickets for the last day of the event on Sun 6th June. If you’ve never been it takes place on Cheltenham Racecourse and is one of the most relaxed festivals I’ve been to. Headlining on the Sunday is folk pin up Seth Lakeman and also playing are groovesome dance outfit Dreadzone and The South (formally The Beautiful South).

There’s lots for children to do and is the perfect one to break your duck with if you are a festival virgin.

The tickets will be part of the charity auction that we’re running during the evening gig.

Tickets are available! Go and grab one!

So far the list of participants looks…well..like this:

So why don’t you click here and grab a ticket?! Don’t forget to invite your friends!

Invisible Vegas Live

We can now confirm that powerful Oxfordshire indie-rockers Invisible Vegas will be playing live at Oxford Twestival on the 25th March 2010. They’ve been working on new tracks recently, so this is one of the first chances to hear them performed. Great music at the Living Room, and raising money for Concern Worldwide, what more reason do you need to mark this date in your diary?

2010 Twestival, we are concerned about EDUCATION this time…

In 2009, we thought about Water.

In 2010, we focus on a different issue, Education.

Twestival Global 2010 supports Concern Worldwide (as we mentioned).

72 million children globally have no access to primary education.

It means unstopped cycle of poverty.

Education could be the time for their escape from poverty.

Concern worldwide defines the impact of education

Education is a human right and a crucial factor in the reduction of poverty. It is also instrumental in the promotion of democracy, tolerance and personal and social development.

$28USD (approximately £18.59), this amount of money can support one student’s uniform, books, pencils, and paper for a year.

Over 700,000 people in 28 countries are benefited by Concern Worldwide Education project and our Twestival hopes this figure will improve.

Whole revenues from our event around the world will go to  Education project of Concern Worldwide.

Your donation for this festival would be the turning point for a child’s life.

Oxford Twestival 2010 revenue will be used for Building Schools.

Jim White Joins Social Media Panel

I’m really pleased that we’ve secured journalist, broadcaster and author Jim White to sit on the Social Media Panel taking place at The Phone Room @ 2pm during Twestival.

He’s an engaging kind of bloke who writes a sports column for The Daily Telegraph and film reviews for The Word magazine as well as contributing many times on BBC Radio 4 and Five Live. He should inject some humor into the proceedings as well as, I’m sure, a lot of valid points about how social media is changing the way in which we communicate.

We’ve just got to invite the rest now…. :-)

Welcome to Will Phipps!

Posted on: 2 March 2010 (3 weeks ago) at 2348 - Comment

We are very happy to announce that we have confirmed the first artist of the night for Oxford Twestival - Will Phipps, who will be joining us on the 25th at the Living Room.

We will try to feature more information about Will shortly, but in the meantime we would like to update you on developments so far. We have decided to celebrate from 10AM to 11PM - do you feel like joining us?;) We want to start the day with a slow coffee morning, well actually a late morning (10AM - midday). After lunch - we will leave this bit up to you, unless you want to join us anyway;) - we will host a social media panel at Voice/The Phone Room offices in South Oxford, hoping to have a small slot for a virtual event too. We would like to sit down with representatives of few sectors like social media, marketing, education and charities, to talk about the role of social media for education. After the virtual event we will all go to the Living Room to have a beer, enjoy great music!

Continuing the tradition of previous events we will both have a raffle and an auction, so do look around in your room and check if you happen to have a book, an album or anything else you could donate to Oxford Twestival. We will collect all the sponsored and donated items and giving them away in the evening raffle - your chance to get your item back? (just joking).

So here it is! We will launch the tickets soon, so stay tuned and make sure you have a free evening, afternoon, morning on the 25th of March - it’s almost here!:)

First Sponsors - Voice, The Phone Room and Oxford College of Marketing

Posted on: 21 February 2010 (4 weeks ago) at 2310 - Comment

We would like to say thank you to our first sponsor, Voice, who has given us the opportunity to host the social media panel in the offices on the 25th of March.Voice is a new social media agency specialising in non for profit sector, so our event is very close to its work.

We would also like to send a big hug to their twin agency, The Phone Room for support with the organisation of the evening gig, and once again giving us a hand with the social media panel! The Phone Room has also offered their experience in fundrasing, which they have gained throughout years of successful telephone fundraising activities.

We are also proud to welcome once again Oxford College of Marketing amongst our sponsors. Since last Twestival College has moved into social media, and currently offers a course on digital marketing. We will work closely with them on positioning of our event, and maybe welcome them amongst our performers too;)

Thank you very much to all three initial sponsors! It is really encouraging to have such a good start with people, who understand major fields of our work!

THANK YOU!:)
