Oxford Twestival tickets are go!

We’re pleased to announce that tickets for Oxford Twestival 2009 are now available to purchase. Buying them in advance costs a fiver, and in return you’ll get an evening of music and entertainment - plus every penny goes to Oxfam’s water sanitation project in Mali. More than anything, it stands to be a really fun night.

Click here to buy your ticket now.

Charity tickets are also available for people who’d like to donate to the project but can’t come on the evening. If you’d like to help out with sponsorship or prizes for our raffle and charity auction, we’ve prepared a presentation full of useful information. Please contact us if you’d like to know more; you’ll get plenty of coverage from us both online and on the night, and you’ll be helping a great cause.

Party planning

The Oxford Twestival crew worked late yesterday to pin down some important details about the event. We’re excited - it’s going to be a great party, and we’ve set ourselves some ambitious fundraising targets for Oxfam’s Mali water sanitation project.

So what can you expect? As well as some awesome music and performance artists, the evening will be a great professional networking opportunity with some of the city’s thought leaders in business and technology.

There will also be a charity auction - so if you’ve got something you’re willing to donate to raise money for Oxfam, please let us know. You’ll receive great coverage on the night, as well as plenty of web exposure from the event organisers. We’re also interested in any other funding ideas you might have, even if you think they’re outlandish. Let us know!

Tickets will be on sale soon, and you’ll receive a discount if you book in advance; check out the event’s page on Facebook or our page on Upcoming to register interest and be notified when they become available.

Oxford Twestival logo

The Oxford Twestival logo can be downloaded here thanks to our great friend @funnypinkdevil, who will probably post about it soon (just as she did when she made one for Barcamp Transparency).

Thank you, @funnypinkdevil!

Please take this logo, use it and spread the word. We’ve got a great night planned for Oxford Twestival, and we want to share it with as many people as possible - and raise as much as we can for Oxfam’s water sanitation project in Mali. It’s for a great cause, and there will be plenty of fun to be had on the night.

A little note

..from @ernmander here:

Meet the team!

OK, so here is the quick update on where we are with @oxtwestival (do follow us there;)). First of all, let me introduce the team!

Representing our first sponsor, 1000heads , @girlterate stepped in with support on sponsorship and help leading to and on the day of the event.

My dear friends from Barcamp Transparency offered help too: @AmandaFClark , @mapkyca , @benwerd

@Ernmander stepped in too, and will support us in planning entertainment, video documentation from the event and other parts of organising process.

I post as @presleysylwia , but gradually will move to @oxtwestival where you can meet other UK and global Twestivals!

Big thank you to all of you! We will have a meet up next week so I trust you will find new photos tagged with #oxtwestival on Flickr soon;)

Do contact any one of us, if you want to help, sponsor or suggest fund-raising ideas.

Thanks to the generosity of EF/AVHHF all donations and ticket sales are being matched through March 25 up to $100,000.
